Date Night

Thursday night was Crimson Point night at the Farmstead  (corn maze and a whole lot more). Although I am sure Tiffani would have liked to go she was at practice and so Les & I went and had a date night.

Les got to shoot a mini pumpkin at the giant jack-o-lantern face. And a corn cob out of a corn cannon.

They had a giant jumping "pillow". Looked like it could be fun!

The PTA had a fundraiser to see who would get to kiss the pig on this night. The kids were to bring in loose change as a fundraiser for the P.E. program and then the grade level that brought in the most money would get to vote for the teacher that would kiss the pig. Our P.E. teacher also said he would kiss the pig 1 time for every $100 raised. Well the final count was $498.51! The PTA threw in $2 to make it $500+ and Mr. P was a good sport and kissed that pig 5 times! I'm not sure if I ever heard which grade level got to vote for a teacher, but that lucky winner was Mrs. B our school Office Manager. Let's just say there was a very good turn out of Crimson Point staff and families at the Farmstead that night.

Mr. P on the left and Mrs. B on the right. The adorable little pig got "all dolled" up for the occasion with lipstick and a pretty bow on its head.

When that excitement was over with we decided we'd do the corn maze. This early in the season it was still green and not completely trampled through yet. It was kind of nice. There are stations set up where you can punch your card (if you have one!) and we found #1 first and then #2... Woohoo we are on the right track! Then things got a little crazy. We found #1 two more times I believe and #2 one other time. Finally found #3 and then I was ready to be out of there. We were very lost! And it was getting very dark... You can't see a thing in there then! The maze is full of honeycomb shapes. You literally keep going in circles (hexagons)! You can check it out here... http://www.farmsteadfestival.com/index.htm.

Our real "Pumpkin Patch" date night will be at Linder Farms, though, soon I hope. We gotta get us a pumpkin or two and take the hayride and we gotta go support Randy & Sherrie. After all Les did work there one October and drove the tractor last year for Crimson Point night. And you can see a true farm sunset there (sunsets from last year), that aren't "ruined" by the freeway lights, hospital lights, etc.!

A date night sounds like fun! And this one really fun. I am not sure I would like that corn maze when it gets dark...I am a scardy cat for sure! Watching a sunset would make it complete!
