Flying Over

About a week and a half ago, Les was invited to go for a plane ride with his friend Rudi, from work who needed to get some cross country fly time in on his plane. They went to Weiser and Ontario. Here's a few pictures from there flight.
This was the little 4 seater plane they took.

Looking out the front of the plane to the Boise airport. I particularly like the sign from the Ponderosa Aero Club posted right in front of Les... ;)

The runway as they were taking off.

The Flying Wye (where I84 and I184 meet)right in the middle of the window.

These two pictures show the intersection of Ustick & Maple Grove. Not one we frequent much & it took a bit to figure this out, but there is a Church there that I did my preschool practicum in while at BSU and also where the girls & I helped out with Vacation Bible School a few years. Kind of neat to check things out from this angle (from the safety of my stamp room!)

Les was trying to get a shot of Bogus - I think it's on the right side of the picture.

The Emmett Highway

A little closer to Emmett - the airport is about in the middle of the picture.

The top left of this picture is a dairy farm near Ron & Judy's. He was trying to find their house, but they were past it before he realized it.

This was coming into Weiser. (You can see a video of the landing on my facebook page)

Just a neat home on the river.

Rudi and a cool crop duster they saw in Weiser.

Coming into Ontario.

A second shot at New Plymouth on the way home. Still not close enough to get a good shot, but Ron & Judy's is out there somewhere!

A different view of the Flying Wye. This one is taken as they were coming back into the airport and looking west.

Craft Projects

I've been playing around with the Digital Scrapbooking program from SU! and made a project for a friend of mine who went in for surgery for cancer last week and for Mom.

The first one I made a few weeks ago when a friend shared this verse just after I had talked to Mom and she was having a hard time sleeping again. So I made this for Mom, but then had to wait a few weeks to print it because our printer died. Hopefully I will see her this coming weekend and can give it to her.

This next one I made for a friend who just found out she has breast cancer. I was wondering what I could do for her, when Helen shared this Psalm 23 interpretation on facebook and I knew exactly what I should give her. So I printed it up and added some ribbon and the flower. My friend loved it and took another picture down in her room and hung this up by her bed so she could see it everyday.

Now while we are all busy Tessa has her own project that she's been busy with. She got this rope about 2 months ago and one of those days I was home sick, she really went to town on it! I came out into the kitchen and and there were shreds of rope every where.
