This past Saturday we went to the Starlight Mountain Theater in Crouch. We went to see "7 Brides for 7 Brothers", but saw a lightning storm that was just as amazing. WOW! No pictures of either... Not allowed to take pictures of the show & didn't really try to capture any lightning ones. It was really awesome to see driving home at 10:30pm in pitch darkness & then the lightning comes and lights up the roadway, mountains & trees. And the rain was coming down so hard. It was incredible.

Got a bit ahead of myself there though... We headed up there later in the afternoon & met the rest of the group for a spaghetti dinner. A couple that went rented a condo for the night & so we met there to eat. Had yummy spaghetti with homemade sauce. It was so good. We had garlic bread too, and would have had salad... but its contributor arrived a bit late! By the time we'd eaten dinner we all had to head out to the show. So we decided to come back to the condo after the show to have dessert (our contribution). I made two pans of the Stiped Delight pudding dessert & I think we ate 1 1/2 of them. There was 16 at dinner & 13 for the show (& only 11 ate dessert).

About 1/2 way through the show it started raining, and then pouring. I don't think the picture really shows how hard it was coming down. But they finally stopped the show & invited everyone to go into the rooms on the side of the stage. Most went, but we stayed put as we had the overhang from the lighting booth above us. So we sat & waited it out. When it finally slowed & then stopped the cast (the women!)went out on stage with brooms sweeping the water off. It was amazing how much water accumulated on the stage. They passed out garbage bags to sit on since the wood benches were now soaked & passed towels down the row to help dry things off. Finally the show started up again for about 10 minutes & then it was time for the "regularly scheduled" intermission.

The show went on, but it started raining again towards the end. And probably continued the rest of the night! We'll have to ask the campers who stayed up there from our group instead of driving home. I'm so glad we had a dog at home to take care of, I would not have wanted to camp out in that storm! I think the whole group stayed somewhere (condo, camping) except for us & we took Travis home as well. Anyway, it was a fun night. Next time I think I'd like to go earlier to explore a bit and maybe camp if the weather is better! Which I guess means next summer.

This looks like a lot of fun inspite of the rain!!! And Yes, I agree, no camping in the rain!
